Dear Parent,

I hope you and your child (ren) are just as excited as I am to begin this new school year. I am looking forward to an exciting school year. It is my great privilege to share in this process with you and your child.

Please have your child bring in the following items within the first few days of school:

1. Two pencils

2. One two-pocket folder

3. One composition notebook (not spiral bound)

4. One bookmarker

The folder and the notebook are for homework. The folder will specifically be for math and language arts worksheets not completed in class. The notebook will be for writing creative sentences using our vocabulary and spelling words.

As a third/fourth grader your child will be expected to read for at least twenty (20) minutes each night (Mon-Fri.). Homework will also be assigned Monday through Thursday evenings to reinforce what we are learning in class. If homework becomes a concern please let me know either by e-mail, personally, or through their notebook.

I believe that if we work together and communicate often your child can enjoy great academic and personal success.

Sincerely,

James “Sheamus” Kennedy
